Absolutely gripping, beautiful beautiful book!

I have read the first two sisters books before this one , both I absolutely loved and give 5 stars to each easily. I so looked forward to going back to each one, becoming completely absorbed in the characters and places, the history etc etc .... such a delight to be transported into their worlds, I completely forget all my worries and stress .... each book so far has been , when reading, my favourite, improving each time if it is possible to improve! .... The Shadow Sister is my favourite by far, if I could give it 10 stars I would ..... I don't want it ever to end! Love love love .... and look forward to getting back to, I'm finding myself thoroughly absorbed in the lives of the characters involved. Can not recommend highly enough ..... BUY IT!! These books have helped me get back to my reading again :) , after having been unwell for a few years and unable to focus and be still enough to for way too long , thankyou Lucinda! I adore Orlando by the way, and smile at his wonderful eccentricity! xxx

This is the third installment in the Seven Sisters series. This book follows Star D’Aplièse as she embarks on her journey of discovery.

I only finished The Shadow Sister this afternoon and I just had to share my thoughts immediately.

If you haven't yet started to read this series, then please do 😊 they are just beautiful and so much research has gone into them they need to be read.

Now I didn't think any of the books would top the love I had for the first one. Which was Maia's story. That one I fell in love with the locations and the start of the mystery of Pa Salt.

The Shadow Sister has now firmly got a place in my heart. I loved everything about it 💗 The present day story of Star as she discovers who she is and steps out of her sisters shadow, I have to admit I'm using all my willpower to hold off rushing straight into CeCe's story 💪

The historical part of Star's story is just wonderful. Very reminiscent of the classics I have read Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. I love delving into the society of those times. And marvel at how lucky us women are in this day and age.

As usual I found myself googling away at the characters as Riley blends fiction and fact together 😍 we get to learn about the past whilst being immersed into a beautiful narrative.

The characters we come across in Stars story are fantastic. I loved each and every one of them for various reasons 🥰

I could gush about this story all night long. But I believe its best if you read it for yourself 😊

What a superb read! From moment I started this novel, I was hungry to find out about Star, the quietest of the sisters, who has always allowed CeCe to talk for her. It was lovely to witness Star (Asterope) branch out and find out her own identity. This time the novel is set in England, in the Lake District and London. The historical story is about fiercely independent, Flora MacNichol. Elements of history are weaved into this book with the mention of Beatrix Potter and Alice Keppel, the mistress of King Edward VII (Bertie). Lucinda Riley made me warm to both characters: Flora and Star. Both narratives about the past and present are fascinating and I loved this book. I'm looking forward to reading more novels in the series.

The series begins with “The Seven Sisters” by the same author; Lucinda Riley. I can’t recommend them highly enough - Lucinda’s books are always incredibly spellbinding novels, beautifully researched, and beautifully written - if you enjoy The Seven Sisters, you will definitely want to read the other books in the series, and I guarantee you will enjoy every single page down to the last full stop!

Of course each book can be read as a stand-alone book, but the most rewarding and enjoyable experience comes from reading them as a series -

Oh my word.

This took a bit of getting into in the car on a tour of Scotland recently as it jumps from timeframe to timeframe - husband got very confused. However it turned out to be a brilliant travelling companion. Lots of discs so lasted ages - well done Lucinda Riley for the book and for the tapes.
