Great quality, really comfortable, can meditate for longer in seiza (kneeling) position.

I love this meditation bench! The kneeling/seiza position is my favourite for a straight posture, easy breathing and relaxation. I've been practicing this posture since I was 16 and that's 34 years of practice. Albeit I can meditate without pain in this position it does require that after at least 15 mins I need to stretch out my legs and let the blood flow back into them.
Enter the "Mindful and Modern Folding Meditation Bench". I read about the benefits of using meditation benches or seats and finally convinced myself to buy this one based upon the great reviews and I'm glad I did.

I love that it is made out of bamboo which makes it light and strong with a nice grain to it. Folding legs and carry case make it easy to transport. The hinges for the foldable legs are quality and durable. Because the hinges are stronger and thicker the don't sit completely flush against the bamboo boards but they're solidly attached and I don't foresee any problems with these going forward.

The angle of the seat is perfect and distributes the weight from the buttocks down to the knees reducing pressure on one's backside but also pushing back and upwards from the ground. Not having the weight of my upper body directly on my calves and feet means no more pins-and-needles when I've finished meditation. Something else to think about is when I was a teenager practicing karate and asked my instructor about sitting in seiza for longs periods he said that the lack of blood flow through the legs can cause the blood to clot. Even though the clotting gets resolved after leaving the position it's probably a good idea to avoid it in the first place with a bench. That was another reason I considered buying one.

I found I sit quite a bit higher as a result of the bench and at first it felt weird but I soon got used to it and realised it was great for the posture too. I can now have prolonged periods of sitting in seiza without the side effects.

Highly recommend this bench.

Unfortunately that's not me. I could not sit comfortably on this seat. I found myself fully immersed in the pain and not the meditation. I do wish the legs locked up-- it would make it easier for me to use. This seat has now made my list of "hope to be able to do" one day.

This is my second product from this company and I am still enthralled by the quality and durability of these products. This bench is lightweight bamboo, durable hinges, beautiful sleek design and has a travel pouch to travel with! This works best for me as I plan to take this bench with me to outdoor meditation at the beach/ woods that I like to hike. It’s perfect!!!!!

I like the weight, the bamboo construction and hinge quality. There are three things I didn't like, however - I'm 5' 7" and I found the leg length a bit too short so that the flex in my knees is a bit too acute. I'd lengthen the legs by about 1.5 inches and make the platform a bit longer to accommodate that. Also, the travel case is BRIGHT WHITE - not a good choice for an on the go portable, intended to be used outside, too, product. Black or dark green would have been better from a cosmetic point of view. (sorry, but even washing it will never get it back to it's original whiteness - it's going to go dirty yellowish over time.) Also, the zipper on the case is only on one end, so it can be a tight fit getting it in and out - I would have extended the zipper around one corner and half way down the length to make it easier to get on and off.

Great tool for meditation practice

I've been using this bench for the past week or so and I think it's really helped me get back into a good meditation routine. There's something about having a physical item associated with meditation that helps me stay consistent with my practice. I think having the bench within view everyday is a great reminder to meditate.

I love the design of the bench as well. You wouldn't think wood would be very comfortable and you'd need a cushion or something, but that's not the case. The bench is perfectly comfortable and that forward decline helps me maintain much better posture when meditating.

The fact that it folds up to save space is fantastic since, and I loved the carrying case as well.

Good bench, but stiff knees will require a cushion when sitting

For the money, this stool is very functional, sturdy, and easily portable. The finish wasn’t the greatest but adequate given the price point. My only caution to prospective buyers is, if you have stiff knees, you will find this slightly painful at first if you don’t use a cushion when sitting. My standard seiza bench’s legs are higher, so I don’t have this problem. However, using a cushion overcame the discomfort in the knees, and yoga stretches would also alleviate this issue. Overall, I think this is a good bargain for the money.
