Bits are soft and deform easily - has some harder to find bits but overall not a good value

Pros:
- Has some harder to find bits
- Fancy two-part case with magnetic closure.
- Lid can be used as a parts tray due to a grid of raised plastic edges.

Cons:
- Expensive for what you get.
- Bits seem to be cheaply made of softer metal and deform easily on stuck screws. Had the 1 and 1.5mm flat bits quickly deform on a small stuck screw.
- Driver wheel has sharp edges and is uncomfortable against the palm of your hand under any pressure.

Seems like ifixit invested more in fancy packaging/case than in the quality of the tools which is unfortunate.
For comparison: My other "precision" screwdriver set (no branding, made in china) had no issue with deformation using the same size bits on the stuck screw. It was also cheaper and the driver is more comfortable against the palm of your hand.

Very pleased to have received my iFixit 64 bit kit today. I needed the "Y" security bits to replace my MacBook Trackpad. It seems to be a well made, well thought out box of tricks. The screwdriver has a lovely feel to it, with a beautifully smooth rotating palm tip, possibly bearings, not sure. Nicely engineered case too, with four Magnet (one on each corner) closure, and thoughtful, raised crosshatching inside the lid to contain and separate your removed screws, how wonderful I thought. I took out the flexi extension, popped it into the screwdriver, I then inserted a bit and inverted the whole thing to simulate poking it down into the commonly deeply recessed security screws on most gadgets, ..... and stuff me, if the bit didn't fall out of the extension. What the ...... !! I could not believe that they had scrimped on one tiny crucial magnet up inside the spout of the extension tube end after putting four in the freakin' lid. HELLO! if you were worried about the extra millionth of a Yen in production costs, ... you could have put one of the four lid magnets centrally at one end, forming a triangle, and used the other in the extension. Sorry Mr Mako, .... one STAR withheld! In order to keep you from a Three Stars rating, …you will note that I didn't even go near the fact that you can't see the BLACK on BLACK Identification marks of each bit on the foam insert, Otherwise, a Great Product..... :-(

I can strongly recommend the purchase of this iFixit 64 bit kit.

I was originally looking for just two screwdrivers, a Pentalobe P5 and a Torx T6 (or TR6), in order to open a MacBook Air and remove the SSD.

It soon became apparent that the vast majority of the items for sale on ebay (just don't even think of going there) and elsewhere were of very poor quality.
Some users reported that their screwdrivers only managed to undo 3 or 4 screws before being “chewed-up” or breaking. I would have been throwing my money away.

I looked at several reviews for the various iFixit screwdrivers and kits. All the reviews, including those on Amazon UK, were overwhelmingly positive.

I could see no point in buying cheap and keeping my fingers crossed.

Two proverbs sprang to mind:
1. Buy cheap, buy twice.
2. Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten.

I did think of buying just two screwdrivers, but then I thought that for a few extra pounds I could have a complete kit which should include every bit type and size known to man.

I can only reiterate what the other Amazon UK customers have said, namely that this iFixit 64 bit set is of very high quality and worth every penny.
The included case is a work of art. Every bit is clearly marked.The top is secured by 4 button magnets at the corners. Removing the top and inverting it creates a handy tray to keep track of tiny screws. An utterly brilliant design!

Do not even think of buying an inferior product, regardless of its apparently attractive price, because the chances are that you will be severely disappointed.

The downsides i found while using it:
* It's hard to see notes of the bits as they are not printed in different colour
* Magnetic cover could have magnets on the biggest part to be able to hold screws (like a magnetic mat), now magnets only holds cover in it's place
* bits are non standard, to can be used only with ifixit tools
* There are cheaper solution that gives you the same stuff, not sure about the durability of those. Will update my review after some time (to see how it hold)

If there is one thing I believe its worth spending money on its tools; good quality tools. And its hard to find better than iFixit. I've used their products for years for casual repair of all sorts of things from smartphones and tablets to laptops and TV's.

The finish and quality of the driver and the bits is excellent and, as of yet, I've never been stuck for the correct bit. Even the micro Philips heads and torque heads are sturdy and don't deform or chip during use.
The kit is I think built primarily for smartphone and tablet repair but I've found it indispensable on laptops and larger tech.
Even the box is useful with its strong magnetic clasps and compartmentalised lid for keeping different screws separate.

It really is hard to fault this product as it works brilliantly weather you're a professional or amateur techie.
