Recension
"I've read many weaving books over the years. This is one I believe belongs on your shelf whether you've been weaving for less than 10 minutes or more than 10 years and every bit in-between. There are valuable tips throughout the volume." --Little Acorn Creations "The book is filled with step by step photographs and easy to understand written instructions. By the time you are ready to start a project, she will have walked you through how-to fix 'emergencies' you may encounter...Liz knows weaving and it is as though she is with you at your loom, answering your questions before you ask. Take a workshop with her without leaving your 'studio'. She shows you how to enjoy the process." --Hartford Knitting Examiner's "In Stitches" column

This is the updated edition of a previous book. I have not followed any of the patterns yet, but the photos and instructions seem very clear. It shows exactly how to warp a rigid heddle loom. I feel I will be able to start weaving on my own, even though I have not had any lessons. I have done very basic knitting and crochet before, so yarns and their different weights and finish are not a new concept for me. The projects are more in line with current fashions, and there is plenty of advice and tips for beginner weavers.

Requires more than beginner level equipment
Granskad i Kanada den 7 oktober 2015Verifierat köp
A good intro to weaving but with some limitations. One example would be that there are no instructions on warping with multiple colours and odd numbers of warps per colour although the patterns assume you can do this. Also, many of the patterns require looms larger than 15 inch and multiple sized heddles, which I suspect most beginners like me have not yet invested in. If you do have this equipment you probably don't need an introductory book.
