I have no issues with what (I think) the author is saying, but how it is said seems cumbersome. I recall reading somewhere many years ago that the most intelligent communicate with great clarity. Whether that is true I don't know, and I don't doubt Ms Vint's intelligence for a second, but readability (if such a word exists) appears not to be a strong suit. Life's too short to read books you feel you aren't getting something from, so I'm afraid I stopped.
