I have had my eyes on these and the Bose QC35's for a while now but Bose headphones seldom go on sale. Having experienced the QC15's (my go to when flying) and also having used other Philips headphones (SHP9500, Fidelio X2HR) I was in a dilemma as to which one I should get. But then Amazon slashed the price on these Philips by half and all of a sudden, it was a no brainer. And I'm glad I pulled the trigger on these. The foam on the ear cups is super plush and even without turning on the noise canceling does an excellent job of cutting out ambient noise. It's almost like ANC is always on. The sound quality is fantastic with nice deep base (not boomy) and crystal clear highs. The mids are also very present and watching shows like Marvel's Agents of Shield, all the dialogue are very clearly audible.
User interface takes a little getting used to but not very hard to get an understanding of. Connecting it to my Samsung S8+ was very easy and quick. I have mainly used these headphone in the wired mode as I do not like to use Bluetooth when I do not need to. The headphones come with a nice carrying case and some accessories to make it easy to travel with them. And the earcups can collapse inwards making them take up very small space in a bag.
I have not tested the ANC on a plane yet (thanks to COVID) but at home, I could tell the difference between the different mode.
I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking for good sound quality ANC headphones who doesn't want to spend too much money on them.
