Great quality, silent, but fiddly to fit.

Comes in a very nicely presented box, with a metal case badge, cable to reduce speed, tube of thermal paste, rear mount plate and extra screws in case you want to replace the stock fan with a thicker one.
Very weighty and well machined, it all seems very good quality.
I fitted this to a Ryzen 3 2200g on an AsRock AB350 Gaming ITX motherboard. It was a little awkward as you have to screw the heatsink on from the underside, while holding it in place and keeping aligned. It's very well mounted though.

Most temps seem similar to stock, but with much lower noise. I was always aware of the Wraith Stealth fan whereas in the same situations this is silent. When pushed the fan is louder but still acceptable, and quieter than the Stealth. With a GPU overclock to 1500MHz and gaming on GTA Online the fan seems to get to about 80% speed, so probably has a bit more potential.

I'm using this is a very compact case with restricted airflow so my temps are higher than average, hitting about 80C in games that push the 2200g.

The Perfect Cooler for my ASROCK Desk Mini A300

The Asrock Deskmini A300 is a very small desktop computer and comes with a stock cooler. The Stock cooler does its job but is a little noisier than most people would prefer. The Noctua NH-L9A-AMA is the recommended cooler for these small factor computers. Asrock deskmini owners are familiar with opening up and configuring the computer so it shouldn't be difficult to fit the cooler. I would say it is fairly easy if the instructions are followed and the job isn't rushed. I fitted the included low noise adaptor because my computing needs are small and i don't do gaming; thus the computer is never going to get very hot. After reassembly, the difference between old and new was a delight. The computer, which is I have vertically-positioned, is now silent. If I stick my ear right next to the exhaust side I can hear a very slight hum. otherwise - nothing. The temperature (linux 'sensors') is stable at around 30°C, slightly lower than previously. All-in-all a great buy at under £35 and I wish I had done this much earlier.

Not good with 3600 Ryzen 5

Overheats with Ryzen 3600 despite being 65w. Not sure if it’s because of the 7nm architecture meaning it heats up quicker (due to smaller die). Idles at 65 degrees and with intense usage with 100% fan has reached 85 degrees. Because it runs hot it is noisy. Wouldn’t recommend for small itx cases and perhaps best with 65w 1000 & 2000 Ryzen series. But shouldn’t have expected too much from such a small cooler.

I even tried putting another fan on top (to create a shroud) to ensure cool air is being drawn in and not recycled warm air. Helps a little but still to hot (the temps mentioned above is with this modification).

As always, another great product from Noctua.
I have a machine with a Ryzen 5 3400G processor, which until I bought this Noctua cooler, I was using with the stock "Wraith Spire" cooler. It was doing adequate amounts of cooling, but it was really noisy- at least for my needs as a living room PC.

I was dubious as to whether this Noctua would make much difference. Some random posts I'd found online suggested that the noise profile of the fans of the Noctua and the stock cooler weren't too dissimilar. However I'm pleasantly surprised - It's made a huge difference. My stock fan would ramp up and down in speed all the time, whereas this is a constant low noise, which is much more pleasing! Plus it's keeping CPU temps in the 30-40's which is awesome!

Great htpc cooler

Bought this of a tiny itx build in a in win Chopin case. Fitted a Ryzen 5 2400g with 8gb of ram and and a intel 760p nvme drive on a b450 motherboard. This cooler allows you to run prime 95 on all cores and threads with a max temp of 82°c in a 2l case. I personally disabled procession boast 2 which bought the temperature down to 69° c with all cores running 3.6ghz and hypertheading enabled. My tiny htpc allows me to watch 4k with HDR and wide colour enabled, passmark scored 3432 which is fantastic for a tiny pc. Also runs almost silently.

Perfect for Ryzen SFF builds

I use this with a Ryzen 5 1600X in a tiny air flow restricted SG13 case with a single 120mm intake, and a full sized 1660 ti hogging the air from the side vents. Dispite this and the fact that this cooler isn't rated for a 95w cpu, it's always kept it well within acceptable temps even after long gaming sessions, all while keeping very quiet

As for the quality of the product, packaging etc, if you've never had a Noctua before......prepare to have your expectations exceeded by a company, a rare event for sure.

In summary, Noctua apart from your ugly brown fans.....you are still untouchable in the air cooled PC space, TOP STUFF

Used in small form factor build in a Fractal Design Node 202 case for a Ryzen 1600X. Perfect fit for the case and a CPU that doesn't have a stock cooler included. Exceptional build quality as usual from Noctua. Well packaged with everything required included. One star marked down because the fan is Noctuas hideous colourway as usual. Not an issue in a small enclosed case, but there really is no excuse for it in 2019. PC building is an enthusiast hobby and aesthetics matter to enthusiasts. Make them black or grey for goodness sake.

Quiet compared to my stock cooler.

My only issue with these Noctua fans is you have to pay a premium for the black option. Normally I wouldn't care as I don't really look into my computer case however this one was for a STX (smaller than ITX) computer and the grille at the top exposes the cooler so it can be seen. Having said that, this is on me not Noctua.

The fan is almost silent when used with my A300 Deskmini (on a 3400g). I have not checked temps however I would assume it's quite decent as there is no heat coming out the A300 (compared to my main PC which can heat up my house).

If you want it quiet and don't have much head room (STX / min ITX low profile build) then you can't go wrong with this really.

Really easy to install, pop the back plate on the motherboard, apply the supplied paste (or your own) and screw in from the rear.

Having read earlier reviews before purchase, I'd read how this item could be a little difficult to mount on the CPU.
However, the design has been changed with the bars already fixed to align with the MB mounting holes. It was thus simple to install. I placed the cooler module upside down on bubble wrap (to protect the fan) and after applying the heat-sink compound onto the base of the cooler rather than the top of the CPU, I turned the mother board over and it was easy to locate the mounting holes to the arms of the device. Lowering the MB gently onto the cooler, it was then easy to screw the cooler against the CPU, thus providing a good seal.

It works very well and, even under high CPU loads, is remarkably quiet. Thoroughly recommended!

I bough this to replace the stock AMD Ryzen cooler (which is really, really good for a stock cooler) as my ITX PC was getting a little noisy.
The package is as I'd expect from Noctua - I've used their cooling for 3 of the PCs I've built - it's superb. And the cooling and quality of the solution is par to none.
Fitting is straight-forward, though if you've already build the PC you will have to strip it back down again. Not a bad thing as it allows you to do a deep clean of the hardware. Easy enough if you take your time, have a couple of cups of tea.
The fan and cooler is around half the height of the stock cooler with perfect clearance around the CPU for RAM and the power regulators.
Overall, I'm as impressed as I expected from a Noctua product.
