I think you get a lot for the money with this console
- it seems well build
- good cooling (it's really quiet)
- nice design
- game pass is good, sure you miss some titles but otherwise it's good and you get discounts sometimes.

It lacks rechargeable batteries for the hand control but otherwise really nice console :)

Series S is a fantastic little next gen machine that leaves PS4 pro and Xbox One X in the dust. The SSD and the CPU are superfast (very similar to PS5 and Series X). For most games it is hard to see a difference between Series S and Series X. Series S has a lot of amazing features missing from PS5 such as GamePass, XCloud, Quick Resume, VRR, ALLM, 1440p, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. Gamepass is the biggest to thing to happen to the gaming industry since 3D graphics. $299 is just amazing value.

The console itself is very small and nice looking and the new Xbox controller is the best controller I have ever used (and I have used a lot of different controllers). The d-pad is better than any other console on the market. Battery life is great. So nice to be able to play 30 hours without changing battery. I was skeptical to AA batteries but now I LOVE that I can just change the batteries without having to charge for hours.

Microsoft game studios vastly outperformed Sony and Nintendo last year (2021) according to Metacritic. Gamepass is full of third party games including japanese favorites like Dragon Quest and Yakuza. I was a long time since I loved a console so much as I love Series S/X. Gamepass has really made me love gaming again. It is simply wonderful to be able to try a lot of AAA and Indie games without committing to buying them. So many times I have bought games that I did not like.

If I have to say something negative, it would be that the SSD is a bit small, but xCloud is to a large part fixing this problem as most games can be played from the cloud without even installing them.

(I have never owned an Xbox console before. I have previously owned almost all PlayStation and Nintendo consoles)

The console works fine, but the controller broke just before I'd had it a year. Not sure if warranty would get me a new one, I've not tried contacting Amazon about it. But yes, very bummed it didn't hold longer. I'm gentle handed and don't play as much as other gamers do, so I guess it broke because it's cheap quality.

I like this, as a builder if computers it just takes the everyday use of a gaming pc amd the pressures of it running optimal, where the xbox has it all, and it's not as fast as pc, but more cost efficient especially in these times where power is a luxury. One thing I didn't like is the xbox hard drive I bought for it, seawater 4tb, only certain titles work on the drive, so waiting for downloads only to find they don't play and needed to be transferred to internal space. What space?! Hence why I bought this drive xbox shoukd release a list of games compatible with external expansion hard drives. Other than that, the xbox is a beast, game pass is awesome too. Too many games to choose from. Well worth the 13 pounds a month. Not a ps5 guy, used to until the 3 and rest came out, but xbox and pc are for me. Its ultra fast...
