This case ticks all the right boxes. I bought the largest of three sizes and it easily holds 2 cameras, 4 lenses and lots of accessories. The material it is made from is matt black hard plastic and looks very tough indeed, I imagine it would withstand standing on - though I'm not going to try it!
Inside there are two layers of 'pick out' foam for holding the precious contents at various depths and two layers of waffle foam - all good quality stuff. Some may say they think it should have locks but locks on a case are entirely pointless because no thief is going to open the case and take the contents - they just take the case and smash the locks at their liesure. The Mantona has instead quick opening clasps and 2 lugs with a small hole in them. The lugs allow for a padlock to be inserted (or two) and I reckon the best option is a chain secured to a solid object - even in the car boot it could be secured in place. It's about double the price of an aluminium case but is 10 times better! worth every penny and I will probably buy at least one more sometime.
To those who have faulted the size (too) small and the foam (comes to pieces) firstly there are 3 sizes, take care to choose the one that suits your purpose best and secondly the foam is meant to be picked out easily to make 'nests' into which you bed the object to keep them from knocking about and getting damaged.
Take out the foam and you have a fantastic weekend or overnight case. Finally - it looks really cool... not exactly lightweight but it looks just like a case an international man of mystery would have to hold his weapon, stolen jewells or secret documents - you could even chain it to your wrist !
The only tiny thing I would like to improve upon it would be the ability to open the lid flat. That would give an extra secure area to lay things on when changing lenses but that's only the way I work and may not be best for everyone.
