Read this book after purchasing a blood sugar monitor-Realized my sugars were getting worryingly high- 23 at one point - So I'm following the 800 cals diet to lose just under one stone-
I've managed 8lbs up to now & my sugar levels are showing-Now reading between 8 -7 -I've also had a sugar low of 3.5 & 4.1-

He is at pains to point out that his research indicates that what may work for some people my not work for you and it's up to you to find the balance. However some of the advice is rather extreme and runs counter to other general dietary advice - the use of a crash diet for example
I think you read it, discuss it with your diabetes nurse and then experiment somewhat cautiously - get the excess weight off and reduce intake in a nutshell (though treat their contents carefully!)
