It is big, but you soon get used to the extra size and it is not uncomfortably large. And after all it is a 32 inch screen. It fits well on my desk. The stand is steady and the monitor itself sits stably on the stand without wobbling. It tilts enough to be able to view the screen at a comfortable angle. There is no height adjustment which is a shame, but for the money I can live with that. To assemble the screen you only need to screw the base into the stand, which is pre attached to the screen, with a single captured screw. Which was very stiff to screw in and gave me some problem until I used WD40 and a very large screwdriver.
The controls for the comprehensive picture adjustment options are little buttons underneath the panel which took a bit of getting used to. I do prefer the joy stick arrangment on Samsung panels, but they do work well once you understand which button to press for which option.
The monitor itself is excellent. It is an IPS screen and gives very good consistant viewing angles. Colour and contrast is superb. I dont play the latest 3d games so I do not know how good the response rate is (quoted at 5ms) but for things like Diablo 3 it is perfect. The colour is even throughout the panel and there are no dead pixals or backlight uneveness. I use Lightroom a lot for my photographs, and for this it is excellent.
Overall this is a fantastic monitor for the money and I am very pleased with it.
So now onto the positives. This thing is huge, and at the native resolution, is nice and crisp. Once you fix the settings (mentioned above) the image is generally pretty good, with colour reproduction an contrast both at a very acceptable level. At this price point, you can have no complaints.
To address the problem, turn colour temp to normal, and turn all other tweaks off. If you must tweak the colour/contrast, do it from your graphics car driver, and not from the monitor.
I can't comment on sound (does it even have speakers?) since I use external audio..
EDIT. Red line down the screen after three months. Replacement on its way and hoping i've just been unlucky.
After quite a bit of research settled on this , was a bit concerned about going from a 144hz 1ms TN panel to this 75hz 5ms IPS panel and maybe i would notice flickering or some other thing the Iiyama did better.
So after setting this up (not difficult just 1 screw in the base) , connected via DP ( cable included ).
Booted up Win 10 , windows already set the display to 1440p only needed to change refresh from 60hz to 75hz.
Colours where spot on straight out the box so have not felt the need to fiddle around with that just yet.
144hz to 75hz my main concern was unfounded as cant say i noticed this at all.
Light bleed another concern as from what i read online IPS panels seem to suffer from it in varying degrees , again nothing to note , maybe a tiny bit around the edges in dark bits in games and vids , less than what was on my old screen.
Booted up several games :
War thunder , Division 2 , Crysis (yes the 10 year old version) Fallout 4 , far Cry 5.
All work great , Presume freesync is working fine (old screen never had it so didnt know what to expect).
All in all , awesome screen think the normal price is £193 manage to snag it on a Spring sale deal for £163 so well happy with that.
Would have been more than happy at the normal price but an utter bargain at the lower price.
A note about Amazon customer Service , actually bought this on April the 7th for £193 checked on the 8th to see if it had been shipped and noticed it had dropped to £163 and since it had not been shipped asked if i could cancel it or get a £30 refund .
Not quite ,got in touch with Customer service as could not cancel online as it was too far down the ordering process and was expecting to have to either refuse delivery or return it myself.
In the end the helpful Customer service girl cancelled it so it would be automatically returned (which it was , i presume when the courier scanned the package it told him to leave it at the Distribution center).
Had to pay again for the £163 one which was delivered on the 9th , refund for the original £193 was back on my Credit card on the 10th so A++ to them for that.
Very fiddly controls, which isn't uncommon, but they're not easy to find, because the legends are all but invisible. You'll have to grope around, and count to get the right button, and then, as likely as not, it will ignore them, including the on/off button.
Originally only 3 stars, because a Dell laptop in my office doesn't recognise it, and limits it to a medium resolution. AOC's website doesn't even know this model exists, so there's no possibility of downloading any drivers for it. That's pretty poor, in this day and age.
Update, 10 Months after purchase: Reduced to one star. I'm about to bin this monitor, and pay a bit more to buy a decent one. It no longer works with either HDMI or DVI input. The backlight comes on, but it doesn't even get as far as displaying the logo. It's had a nasty habit of flashing, and adding random clumps of white lines for a couple of months. Even if it was still in warranty, I wouldn't want another one, it's that bad.
The monitor itself is sharp when running in 1440p (which the included HDMI cable seems to be capable of) and it upscales lower resolutions like 720p, 900p and 1080p really nicely when I connect my Nintendo Switch to it.
The colours are great from various angles and the size is perfect for gaming and media content (The response time may be undesirable for very competitive gaming, but will be fine for most people).
Thankfully the stand isn't too deep, so I could put it further back on my desk, making the size usable for normal computing tasks.
The only downsides are the lack of a vega mount and the limited stand movement, although this can be partially fixed with a vega mount adapter - just bear in mind that the bar that connects to the monitor stand doesn't detach, so it will be hanging down if you mount it.
Overall I highly recommend this monitor to anyone, especially if you aren't planning to mount it or do very competitive gaming.
